Materials needed:

  • Wash bin

  • Warm water

  • Laundry detergent (without fabric softener)

  • Clean white towels

Procedure:

  • Prepare Cleaning Solution:

    • Fill a wash bin with warm water.

    • Add a small amount of laundry detergent to the water. Ensure that the detergent does not contain fabric softener.

  • Dip Towel in Cleaning Solution:

    • Take a clean white towel and dip it into the cleaning solution. Make sure the towel is damp but not overly saturated.

  • Spot Clean:

    • Gently spot clean the plushie with the damp towel. Be cautious around seams and embroidery designs to avoid damage.

  • Use a New Towel for Residue:

    • Take a new towel (damp but without cleaning solution) to pick up any remaining cleaning solution on the plushie. This helps remove excess detergent.

  • Absorb Excess Water:

    • Gently press a clean and dry towel against the plushie to absorb as much water as possible. This step aids in speeding up the drying process.

  • Air Dry:

    • Place the plushie in a warm, sunny, and dry spot to air dry. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent any mildew or musty odors.

    • Allow the plushie to air dry completely before using or storing it.
